My apartment faces Rainier, and I got terrible soar throats when I had the window open (note, singular, there is only one window that opens). I had to buy an air filter and it immediately resolved my sore throat, so I cannot imagine how bad that air is. The apartment has no air ventilation I can spot; when I set off the smoke detector making toast, it took minutes for the alarm to stop going off because the smoke just lingered. Even when the window is open, the apartment is essentially a concrete box. The building looks fancy, but it's clearly built as low-income housing - polished concrete floors rather than carpet or wood, no forced air, skimping on proper windows, lighting, etc. The paradox is that the rent they ask is more than a person with a low income could afford, but the apartment isn't really nice enough to attract people who can afford the rent. I picked the place because of its proximity to my work, and because I don't stay in Seattle during the week, but if I lived here full time it would be a lot less enjoyable.

Management has been excellent so far, but parking is a lot. It might be fair.via market price, but wages aren't keeping up with cost increases
