Moving to Alderwood Manor

If you're thinking about moving here, you'll be happy to know there are a great amount of house rentals in the area. You'll have a lot of options here, and the vacancy rate is pretty decent, too! There's not much evidence of the old town, so what you'll find is mostly newer developments, rental apts and townhouses for rent. The best thing you can do to get started on your apartment search is to think about exactly what you want from an apartment. If you like living right in the center of things, you'll want to look for apartments in a bigger complex or a home in a busy subdivision. If you prefer to be further out with more space to yourself, you'll want to investigate those options. Are you planning to bring a pet? Make sure to check with your landlord or management company before you sign any papers -- many rentals don't allow furry friends. Do you want to live in a luxury apartment with a doorman and other such amenities, or are you trying to cut costs by living in a place with no frills? Answering these questions before you start your hunt will help you narrow down your search and find the place you want more quickly! It's also a good idea to look at places in a few different neighborhoods so you can get a feel for what the town is like!

What You'll Need

In order to move here, you're going to want to look in the summer or fall if you can. That's when there are the most available apartments and you'll have the easiest time finding a great place. When you head out to your appointments, be sure to have all your rental documents prepared before you go. These are most of the things you'll need in order to sign a lease on your new place. Bring a copy of your ID, your bank statements, pay stubs, letter of employment, references and anything else that will help your landlord see that you are indeed a real person with the capacity to pay your rent every month. You'll also want to bring your checkbook in case you see a place that you love and want to put a deposit on it right away. Hopefully that will be the case!

Alderwood Manor is a small town, but it does have a few distinct sections that are worth knowing about! Here's a little info about each.

North Alderwood: This part of town is where I-5 and I-405 intersect, so it's a great spot for anyone who needs to hop on the highway and commute to work. There's The Old Spaghetti Factory, one of the local favorite Italian restaurants, plus a number of restaurants on the other side of I-5. You'll find that the subdivisions here are more rural and spaced out than other parts of town.

South Alderwood: This area is home to the beautiful Brierwood Park and Pond, a great place to relax and enjoy the sunshine on a warm day. There are a number of small, pretty subdivisions with mostly single-family homes in this area.

Central Alderwood: This area is predominantly centered around Route 524, which has plenty of shops and restaurants scattered along it. You'll find a Barnes & Noble and Smitty's Barber Shop, as well as Teriyaki Time for a quick bite. This area is primarily made up of small single-family homes.

Living in Alderwood Manor

Life in Alderwood resembles that of most small towns -- friendly people, mostly residential streets and a slower pace of life. It's a perfect place to live for people who work in either Everett or Seattle and don't mind the short commute. Homes are on the pricier side, but that only reflects the high quality of life you get here! There's plenty to see and do within town and Lynnwood, just across I-5, has even more in terms of shopping and entertainment. The Pacific Northwest is known for its beautiful climate and picturesque scenery, so you'll probably find yourself heading to the mountains or out to the water quite a bit to take in some of the natural beauty of your surroundings!
