Property DescriptionThis spectacular home was thoughtfully designed by architect Philip Wu. Expertly blending the grand industrial scale of a Greenwich Village loft with a warm material palette, this luxurious residence has an ideal layout for both entertaining and day-to-day life. With extensive built-ins, high ceilings, and top-of-the-line finishes throughout, the loft features two bedrooms, two full baths, and a home office.
Upon entry to the apartment via key-locked elevator, the living room is immediately welcoming, with exposed brick walls, 11' barrel-vaulted ceilings, wood floors and four large south-facing windows that fill the loft with light. The two seating areas include a more formal living space and a den/media area with a built-in entertainment unit, featuring a beautiful Japanese acoustical tiled-wall, which increases sound quality while reducing noise. The 54.5-foot long living/dining room offers unlimited possibilities for entertaining and multiple seating areas.
The open chef's kitchen features poured concrete countertops, a Viking refrigerator, a 6 burner BlueStar range, Viking wine refrigerator, two dishwashers, and an appliance garage. The kitchen island has extensive prep space, an oversized sink with high-end hardware, and storage. An additional prep sink and a breakfast area with built-in banquette completes the kitchen.
The loft's master bedroom suite offers an en-suite bath with heated floors, a double vanity, and a walk-in shower. Thoughtfully designed built-ins include two large wardrobe closets, three built-in dressers, and a window seat. The bed-wall features the same acoustical tile as the living room which reduces noise to ensure that the master bed-chamber is a quiet oasis. An additional bedroom offers a built-in bench, built-in desk, and built-in bookcase. Completing the home are a second full bathroom, a partially enclosed home office, central A/C and a washer and dryer.
Built in 1903, 61 East 11th Street is an intimate co-op with nine full-floor lofts.
