Your monthly rental savings will quickly add up to a nice little chunk of change that you'll soon be able to use for some of those long overdue items.

Other than that, just make sure you bring along all the proper documents you may need if you're planning to rent: copies of ID, bank statements, W-2, credit report, and of course, the all-important deposit.

Living in Hickory Ridge

The advantages to settling down in the Hickory Ridge neighborhood mainly consist of well established and maintained municipal services and facilities, easy access to principal road arteries and lower costs due to lower rental expense. Local shopping is easily done at the Eastland Mall, once the largest regional mall in North Carolina. It includes an ice-skating rink and a movie theater complex for those close-by weekend, chilling out afternoons. While you're at it, pay the Walmart on Eastway a visit and you'll discover many convenient one-stop shopping options at your disposal.

Cultural diversity is a pleasant result of the settlement history of the East Charlotte area. Consequently, international ethnic cuisine abounds and there are many great options for your dining-out experience. You might want to check out Brazas Brazilian Grill, La Canasta Dominicana and the Saigon Bistro while you're at it.

Not to be overlooked is Charlotte's efficient local and public transportation system. Hickory Ridge's location in East Charlotte is a blessing in that it once was a sprawling suburban area and benefited from a confluence of convenient roadways. Private auto and public transport are the major beneficiaries in today's Charlotte area hustle and bustle world. Principal street and highway routes include: Eastway Drive, Independence Boulevard, Central Avenue, Shamrock Drive and Sharon Amity Road. The extensive Charlotte Area Transit System (CATS) provides ample bus line service to Charlotte's Hickory Ridge and bordering East Side locations. The area is served by: Route 23 via Shamrock, the 29 down Sharon Amity, Route 39 along Eastway and the 17 on Central Avenue.

As a documented and recognized integral part of Charlotte's physical community makeup, certain identifying and defining Hickory Ridge demographic data does exist. For instance, the latest available info on this Mecklenburg County area reveals there are 7,456 residents who take up 2.86 square miles of Charlotte's proud turf. It borders Albemarle Road (State Highways 24 and 27 combined) on the south, Pence Road on the north and EWT Harris Boulevard on the west boundary. There is no east border as Hickory Ridge is essentially triangular in shape.

Hickory Ridge is not considered an outlying suburb of Charlotte. Located in the eastern sector of its large metropolitan parent city, data suggests that Hickory Ridge is best recommended for the following: low cost of living, a stable housing market, high public school graduation rates and generally sunny weather. Most notable Hickory Ridge, NC has been said to be an extremely livable place.

Getting there easily, and ease-of-movement once you settle in, are benefits of relocating to Charlotte. Charlotte nation's largest regional banking center, the Charlotte Douglas International Airport is busy and is the largest in the state. Not surprisingly, given Charlotte's economic good fortunes and business career opportunities, it is also ranked as the ninth busiest airport facility in the United States (US) and serves as a US Airways' hub that serves over 200 worldwide and domestic destinations. If entertaining visitors or an occasional escape to kick back and unwind in some exotic world destination is your thing, you will appreciate Hickory Ridge's close proximity to such a highly respected, world-class commercial airport.
