Property DescriptionBe the first to live in this tranquil one-bedroom, one-bath apartment at the brand-new 'Carriage House Lofts' by Artifact Living, located at 457 West 150th Street between Amsterdam and Convent Avenues.
Apartment 2C is bright and airy, with expansive windows reaching the 15-foot ceilings. The vibe is airy yet cozy, made warm by wide-plank antique spruce wood flooring throughout. In fact the floors were repurposed from wood beams that were removed from the original structure to create the new courtyard. The unit includes an in-unit washer/dryer and premium kitchen appliances, such as a dishwasher, induction cooktop, circulating hood, built-in oven, and microwave.
Enjoy the convenience of multi-zone central heating and air-conditioning, allowing separate temperature control in different areas of your home to save money (and the planet). The spa-like bathroom is equipped with chrome Grohe fixtures and a deep tub for ultimate relaxation. The European-style windows are thermally and acoustically insulated to manage sunlight and noise.
Security is paramount in this 26-unit building, safeguarded by multiple cameras in the entryway and common areas. The ButterflyMX intercom system lets you see and speak with visitors, while elevator access is secured via PIN code or your smartphone app, ensuring extra safety on residential floors.
The landscaped courtyard, open to all residents during daylight hours, offers various seating arrangements perfect for reading, reflecting, or snacking. The rooftop terrace provides lounge seating and a panoramic view of the Sugar Hill district.
Nestled in the heart of the historic Sugar Hill district of Harlem, a remarkable transformation has taken place at 457 W. 150th Street: A 19th century carriage house and livery stable built to house horses that raced on the Harlem River Speedway has been reimagined as a meticulously crafted 26-unit residential rental building that maintains the original structure's architectural simplicity and symmetrical design. Originally built in the Neoclassical style in 1920, the building is now ready for its next chapter as a collection of modern studios, 1, 2, and 3 bedroom units, available now for rent.
Each apartment is bathed in natural light, thanks to a thoughtfully designed central courtyard that ensures sun-soaked interiors and provides multiple outdoor exposures. The courtyard also offers cloistered access to the outdoors. The units feel loft-like and airy, thanks to ceiling heights reaching 15 feet in most units. Washing machines, condensation dryers, dishwashers, induction cooktops and integrated ovens are standard in every apartment. Enjoy a birds' eye view of Sugar Hill from the shared top lounge offers
The building's facade has been beautifully restored to its original splendor, reflecting the architectural grandeur of the Sugar Hill district. Inside, history continues in sustainably repurposed materials: enormous wood beams, salvaged during the creation of the courtyard, have been transformed by a Brooklyn-based wood shop into stunning wide-plank flooring of heart pine, featured throughout every unit.
This unique heritage property is now welcoming tenants to write their own chapters within its warm, welcoming walls.
