A 4.2 acre paradise for your family with one of the best views in the Valley, a pool with a great deck for barbecues, plenty of parking, basketball hoop, chicken coop (if you are adventurous), and a large potential garden (if desired). House is remarkably secluded, yet minutes from all the shopping and dining of Los Gatos, and approximately a 1.1 mile walk to Los Gatos High School.

You will be living on part of the 4.2 acre Yung See San Fong estate--registered by the US Government as a National Historical Place, described on Wikipedia. and featured in the 1918 Sunset magazine as a key Property of the West.

The house is a Kohlsatt custom design, with a completely open floor plan on the top floor with a massive row of windows that cover the north side of the house to highlight the forever views. The downstairs features two generous bedrooms with shared full bathroom, and the master bedroom with en-suite bathroom and walk in closet. Porches allows sunsets and evenings that you will remember for a life time. The outdoor pool has been a popular place for our tenant's children and friends to come visit and play during the hot Los Gatos summers.

For over 20 years, this house has heard the happy delighted screams of children as they explored the many corners of the massive property, played tag in the gardens, gorged on the abundant figs from the property's fig tree, or sat under the majestic 200 year old Live Oak Trees that cover the property. The estate was formed 100 years ago, and shares the property with two other houses including the historic home of author Ruth Comfort Mitchell Young and her state senator husband, Senator Sanborn Young.

The rental is nicknamed "The Barn," due to being built on the historic site of the Youngs's historic barn. However, what was once the housing for the horses, can now be your resting place. Pets can be negotiated for a reasonable fee and additional deposit, but must be interviewed by the rest of the residents, and kept on a lease due to the amount of wildlife on the property.

Other changes to color schemes or painting can be negotiated for additional fee.

Property is flush with wildlife, and features "One Horn" the buck, a flock of 20 wild turkeys, and a non-aggressive skunk couple, that only comes out at night time. Sadly, the Silver Tailed Fox couple that had lived her for the last 5 years have moved out recently because the male was hit on the local road. In this light, if you have a dog, keeping them leashed is good solid advice. Last time this house was listed, we never got to the first show date as we had multiple people state that they wanted to rent the property simply based on the pictures, descriptions, and answers to their particular questions. We encourage you to ask us anything about the area or school. We consider our tenants not as simply renters, but as friends that contribute to maintaining this special place.

Requirements: Credit scores of less than 700 will not be considered. Preference will be given to applicants with credit scores 750 or higher. We welcome diversity.

Other notes: As part of the 95030 zip code, you will have access to some of the finest public schools in the nation. Just 1.7 miles to Louise van Meter Elementary School, 1.9 mi to Raymond J. Fisher Middle School, and just 1.1 miles to Los Gatos High School. According to niche.com, Los Gatos High School ranks in the top 2% of all public high schools in the nation.

Access to the work life of Silicon Valley is excellent: 4.1 miles away from Netflix, an 11.6 mile bike ride to Apple Park, and 12.7 miles to San Jose International Airport. Googleplex is an approximately 37 minute average commute according to Trulia commute maps.
