Apartment List has released Chandler’s results from the third annual Apartment List Renter Satisfaction Survey. This survey, which drew on responses from over 45,000 renters, provides insight on what states and cities must do to meet the needs of 111 million American renters nationwide.

Historic character blends with tech industry influence in Downtown Chandler, where early 20th-century buildings alongside modern developments create architectural diversity in this rapidly growing Phoenix suburb. Residents enjoy the weekly farmers market at Dr. A.J. Chandler Park and the vibrant restaurant scene along Arizona Avenue. Though parking challenges increase during popular events like the monthly art walk, free garage parking remains available for downtown residents. The neighborhood's walkable design allows car-free living unusual for suburban Phoenix, with most daily necessities available within blocks rather than miles.
Active adults over 55 discover resort living without ownership commitment in Sunbird's rental communities. The neighborhood's age-restricted focus ensures quiet environments and amenities specifically designed for mature residents rather than families with children. Most rentals include golf course views, while the community's robust activity calendar creates immediate social connections for newcomers transitioning to Arizona living.
Ocotillo stands out in Chandler with its signature man-made lakes and waterfront properties surrounded by palm trees – an unusual sight in the Arizona desert. Golfers appreciate the Ocotillo Golf Club with its challenging water features, while families enjoy the extensive walking paths and bridge-connected islands. Tech professionals value the proximity to major employers in the Price Road Corridor. The lakefront lifestyle comes with extra ambiance, though seasonal algae management efforts occasionally affect outdoor activities.
