Ridgeview is an older apartment complex. Despite its age, its a great value for the price. Lots of space in a decent location. Maintenance team is five star, along with management. Never had any issues with pests or anything serious. The buildings themselves might be old, but the value is there. Maybe just need some fresh paint and newer amenities?

Military families stationed at Peterson Space Force Base appreciate Gateway Park's combination of affordability and quick installation access. The neighborhood's newer apartment communities typically include family-friendly features and flexible lease terms accommodating deployment schedules and PCS moves. Unlike older Colorado Springs neighborhoods, most rentals feature modern construction with efficient heating systems essential during high-altitude winters that challenge vintage properties with their insufficient insulation and outdated heating systems.

What it’s like to live in Briargate
Air Force Academy employees discover ideal housing in Briargate, where well-maintained rental communities sit minutes from base without the institutional feel of military housing. The neighborhood's elevated position provides cooler summer temperatures than downtown, with many properties featuring Pikes Peak views that would command premium pricing in tourism-focused districts. Though rental rates exceed city averages, the elimination of cross-city commuting time creates value beyond basic housing considerations for personnel with limited free time between demanding Academy positions.

What it’s like to live in Memorial Park
Colorado's outdoor lifestyle takes center stage in Memorial Park, home to the state's largest balloon festival since 1977 and an impressive 196-acre recreational haven. Renters love the variety of activities literally outside their door – from fishing at Prospect Lake to skating at the Mark "Pa" Sertich Ice Center to simply jogging the 1.25-mile fitness trail. The neighborhood attracts active professionals and families who value having extensive sports facilities within walking distance. While summer weekends bring considerable crowds during festivals, the park's size means you can usually find a quiet corner even during peak times. Rental options tend to be older but spacious compared to downtown, though be prepared for event parking challenges during the balloon festival and major tournaments.

  • "I love how close my city is to the mountains. Friendly people and lots to do. I don’t like when it snows a ton, but it’s worth it." – Malissa S.
  • "It’s beautiful and there’s always something to do outside in any season. But it’s kind of like a big small town, so everything shuts down early at night. Being a transient city, with lots of people moving every few years, it can be hard to make friends." – Carrie
  • "I love the scenery, but there’s not much to do unless you love the outdoors." – Anon.
