Did you know Cherryland actually started out as someone's private orchard? That someone is the original San Lorenzo pioneer William Meek, who originally settled Alameda County and is often called its first farmer. Today, Cherryland is its own city, not anyone's yard. Cherryland, CA was originally William Meek's personal orchard. Today, the Meek Mansion is still there (and you can visit it), but it's just a small part of town. About 15,000 people now also call this area of the world their home. Today, Cherryland is considered a suburb of Alameda and is really just an area in the east bay of San Francisco. Many people commute into and out of Cherryland for work, and there's not much to do in town other than sleep, eat at restaurants, or do a little shopping. Well, maybe there are a few things to do.
