Welcome to the Apartment List November 2025 Rent Report for Marietta, GA. Currently, the overall median rent in the city stands at $1,303, after falling 0.5% last month. Prices are now down 4.1% year-over-year. Read on to learn more about what’s been happening in the Marietta rental market and how it compares to trends throughout the broader Atlanta metro area and the nation as a whole.
The median rent in Marietta fell by 0.5% over the course of October, and has now decreased by a total of 4.1% over the past 12 months. Marietta’s rent growth over the past year has has fallen behind both the state (-0.4%) and national averages (-0.9%).
Ten months into the year, rents in Marietta have fallen 0.1%. This is a slower rate of growth compared to what the city was experiencing at this point last year: from January to October 2024 rents had increased 2.6%.
If we expand our view to the wider Atlanta metro area, the median rent is $1,450 meaning that the median price in Marietta ($1,303) is 10.1% lower than the price across the metro as a whole. Metro-wide annual rent growth stands at -0.5%, above the rate of rent growth within just the city.
The table below shows the latest rent stats for 24 cities in the Atlanta metro area that are included in our database. Among them, Johns Creek is currently the most expensive, with a median rent of $2,099. Conyers is the metro’s most affordable city, with a median rent of $1,207. Apartment List has released Marietta’s results from the third annual Apartment List Renter Satisfaction Survey. This survey, which drew on responses from over 45,000 renters nationwide, provides insight on what states and cities must do to meet the needs of the country’s 111 million renters.
"Marietta renters expressed general dissatisfaction with the city overall," according to Apartment List. "They gave most categories near-average scores."
Key Findings in Marietta include the following:
Marietta renters gave their city a D overall.
The highest-rated categories for Marietta were safety and low crime and affordability, which received B and B- grades, respectively.
The areas of concern to Marietta renters are public transit (D) and commute time (F).
Marietta millennials are unsatisfied with their city, giving it an overall rating of F.
Marietta earned similar scores compared to other nearby cities like Decatur (F) and Stone Mountain (D), but earned lower marks than Atlanta (B), Lawrenceville (A-) and Norcross (B-).
Marietta did relatively poorly compared to cities nationwide, including Charlotte (A-), Boston (A) and San Francisco (B+).
The top rated cities nationwide for renter satisfaction include Scottsdale, AZ, Irvine, CA, Boulder, CO and Ann Arbor, MI. The lowest rated cities include Tallahassee, FL, Stockton, CA, Dayton, OH, Detroit, MI and Newark, NJ.
