As a resident for almost a year Fairmont has many pluses and a few minuses. Pluses: Beautiful brand new apartments, pool, in unit washer and dryer, etc. The maintenance folks are super nice! Location is perfect they're building a shopping center nearby which will make a number of things super accessible. Great balconies and the residents (at least in my building) are all friendly. Minuses: Some areas I think Fairmont South Lake could improve include: Pricing while high rent is indeed a thing the prices keep going up and I seen many being priced out and having to move at the end of their lease. Security, I love that there was a town hall which I think has helped in some of the issues of car break-in or jackings etc. but initially it was sad to hear how many people had been affected by acts of vandalism. The management team is nice-ish but sometimes I feel like I'm bothering them and the interactions are always weird, tense, and feels as if the staff is disingenuous and I've heard similar feelings from other residents. Staff almost never answers the phone so to get anything done we have to go to the office - which is often results in uncomfortable situation/interactions. Due to stagnant water in the pipes there was a rotten egg smell that got worse when the pipes turned on. It still happens with one or two sinks now, but did go away over all as I lived there. The water stains the toilet, shower, and bowls red - I asked maintenance and they couldn't help and didn't know why it was happening. Also my dishwasher has been rusting my knives and some plates which never happened when I lived somewhere else with the same knife and plates using a dishwasher so I feel a certain way about the water overall. I'd recommend living here (for those who can afford it)
