Urban convenience defines St. Anthony Park, where this distinctive St. Paul neighborhood offers walkable amenities unusual for typically car-dependent Midwestern cities. Most rentals feature architectural character from Victorian to Craftsman, while the compact commercial district provides independent bookstores and coffee shops within walking distance. Though rental rates reflect the area's popularity, the combination of walkability, proximity to University of Minnesota's St. Paul campus, and excellent transit options typically justifies the premium for those seeking authentic urban experiences beyond purely suburban alternatives requiring constant driving for daily necessities.
