Moving to Town

Look for rental homes in Ivins? Your apartment search will turn up a wide range of available properties. You'll find rentals from 3 bedroom houses for rent to studio apartments. Look in local newspapers and online to find rentals and be sure to traverse the area by car to check out any rentals that are not listed in local media. Ride along East and West Center Street to get a feel for the town and which area you'd like to live in. When you're ready to rent, make sure you have your credit report, ID and bank statements handy -- many landlords require this information before renting.

Neighborhoods

You'll find many new planned developments and some replete with golf courses, so you can practice your swing. There is really only one neighborhood here. You'll want to bring a car to live in this area -- there is no public transportation to speak of.

Tenaya: In this neighborhood you'll find plenty of eateries to keep you stomach interested for a long time. You can choose from Xetava Gardens Cafe, Canyon Breeze Restaurant and Pros Pizza. After you eat up, head over to Snow Canyon State Park to work off all the calories.

Living in Ivins

Ivins is a small city and the 71st largest community in Utah. There's plenty of open space between houses, and most areas of this community include planned housing developments, with golf courses, pools, and other amenities. Surrounded by attractive red rock pinnacles and canyons, there's great hiking and beautiful scenery everywhere you look. Kayenta and Padre Canyon are just two of the housing tracts located here.

Note that the name Ivins contains four of the letters in the word living itself. Ivins is a great spot for outdoor lovers, those who love nature, hiking, mountain biking, and exploring. The stunning red rock vistas draw tourists to community resorts and nearby St. George, as well as Zion National Park, about 30 minutes east of town.

If art is your thing, check out the Kayenta Desert Community, which contains the Coyote Gulch Art Village. You'll find a stone labyrinth here, as well as fascinating sculptures, paintings and photographs, most locally sourced.

For art of a different kind, check out the collection of petroglyphs from the Anasazi tribe along the banks of the Santa Clara Creek, northwest of town. The creek area is another excellent spot to hike. The Santa Clara River Reserve and the Red Cliffs Desert Reserve provide great hiking trails to traverse. Just bring your sunscreen -- the desert sun can be hot any time of year.

Snow Canyon State Park, located just outside of town, affords visitors a look at a stunning canyon carved from red and white sandstone. The park also contains cinder cones, lava tubes and flows, and sand dunes. Abby Gale Park, a 14-acre bike and pedestrian green space, offers both recreation and contemplative spots on the northeastern side of this small town. And community classes from youth sports leagues to fitness and arts programs for all ages provide a welcome neighborhood spirit in town.
