National study of renter’s satisfaction with their cities and states
Apartment List has released results for Lakeland from the second annual Apartment List Renter Satisfaction Survey. The survey, which drew on responses from over 30,000 renters, provides insight into what states and cities must do to meet the needs of the 105 million American renters nationwide.
“Renters in Lakeland expressed general satisfaction with their city,” says Andrew Woo, Director of Data Science at Apartment List. “Many categories received average or above-average scores.”

Tourist foot traffic peaks during January's Swan Derby festivities, creating temporary parking challenges near Black & Brew café and other lakefront businesses. Restored properties feature original heart pine floors and period details, though window air conditioning units often supplement central systems during peak humidity months.
Highlands Reserve offers golf course living with resort amenities in this southern Lakeland community. Rental properties typically include access to the championship golf course, community pools, and tennis facilities. While the area provides excellent access to both Bartow Highway shopping and Florida Southern College, summer brings intense heat affecting golf play during midday hours despite the premium positioning. Well-suited for golf enthusiasts seeking affordable course access beyond purely vacation communities who don't require walkable dining options.
