Property DescriptionPerched above Richardson Bay in the heart of Sausalito, the historic "Tank House" is a one-of-a-kind furnished retreat blending Bay Area history, architectural character, and panoramic water views. Originally built in the early 1900s, before modern water mains existed, wooden tank houses dotted the hillsides above Sausalito and the greater Bay Area to collect gravity-fed water. Today, this beautifully preserved and thoughtfully updated residence offers a rare opportunity to live in a true piece of Sausalito history.
This unique three-level home features 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, with the private primary suite occupying the entire top level. Wake up to sweeping views of Richardson Bay, Angel Island, and the San Francisco skyline from the bedroom, deck, and expansive windows that flood the space with natural light. The kitchen features a vintage Wolf gas range, adding timeless character and functionality for those who love to cook. A separate dressing room/home office provides flexible space for remote work, creative pursuits, or additional storage.
The home is offered furnished and showcases warm hardwood floors, rich wood ceilings, charming built-ins, and eclectic coastal character throughout. The inviting living spaces open to a private deck perfect for morning coffee, sunset views, or entertaining above the bay.
Tucked into one of Sausalito's most desirable hillside locations, the Tank House offers privacy, history, and stunning scenery just moments from downtown Sausalito, waterfront dining, ferry access, and Marin recreation. A truly special furnished rental unlike anything else on the market. Two off street parking spaces. Available November 1, 2026 for 3 to 5 months (minimum rental 3 months please).
