Welcome to the Apartment List October 2025 Rent Report for Round Rock, TX. Currently, the overall median rent in the city stands at $1,325, after falling 1.2% last month. Prices are now down 7.2% year-over-year. Read on to learn more about what’s been happening in the Round Rock rental market and how it compares to trends throughout the broader Austin metro area and the nation as a whole.
The median rent in Round Rock fell by 1.2% over the course of September, and has now decreased by a total of 7.2% over the past 12 months. Round Rock’s rent growth over the past year has has fallen behind both the state (-2.4%) and national averages (-0.8%).
Nine months into the year, rents in Round Rock have fallen 3.0%. This is a faster rate of growth compared to what the city was experiencing at this point last year: from January to September 2024 rents had decreased 4.6%.
If we expand our view to the wider Austin metro area, the median rent is $1,326 meaning that the median price in Round Rock ($1,325) is 0.1% lower than the price across the metro as a whole. Metro-wide annual rent growth stands at -6.5%, above the rate of rent growth within just the city.

Apartment List has released Round Rock’s results from the third annual Apartment List Renter Satisfaction Survey. This survey, which drew on responses from over 45,000 renters nationwide, provides insight on what states and cities must do to meet the needs of the country’s 111 million renters.
"Round Rock renters expressed general satisfaction with the city overall," according to Apartment List. "However, ratings varied greatly across different categories, indicating that even though renters love Round Rock, some aspects can be better."
Key Findings in Round Rock include the following:
Round Rock renters gave their city an A- overall.
The highest-rated categories for Round Rock were pet-friendliness and safety and low crime rate, which both received A+ grades.
The areas of concern to Round Rock renters are public transit and commute time, which both received scores of F.
Round Rock earned similar scores compared to other cities in Texas like Austin (A-) and San Antonio (A-), but earned higher marks than Houston (B+) and Dallas (B).
Round Rock did relatively well compared to cities nationwide, including Portland (B), Phoenix (B-) and Indianapolis (C+).
The top rated cities nationwide for renter satisfaction include Scottsdale, AZ, Irvine, CA, Boulder, CO and Ann Arbor, MI. The lowest rated cities include Tallahassee, FL, Stockton, CA, Dayton, OH, Detroit, MI and Newark, NJ.
