Prices remain up 2.5% year-over-year. The median rent in Bloomington fell by 0.8% over the course of September, and has now increased by a total of 2.5% over the past 12 months. Bloomington’s rent growth over the past year has is similar to the state average (3.2%) and has outpaced the national average (-0.8%).
Nine months into the year, rents in Bloomington have risen 1.6%. This is a faster rate of growth compared to what the city was experiencing at this point last year: from January to September 2024 rents had increased 0.2%.
If we expand our view to the wider Minneapolis metro area, the median rent is $1,508 meaning that the median price in Bloomington ($1,501) is 0.5% lower than the price across the metro as a whole. Metro-wide annual rent growth stands at 3.3%, above the rate of rent growth within just the city.
