Urban revival energizes Downtown Winston-Salem, where converted tobacco warehouses now house distinctive apartments alongside new construction. Rental options include industrial-chic lofts and luxury units with city views and modern amenities. While the walkable district offers excellent access to restaurants, galleries, and the Innovation Quarter, weekend noise from entertainment venues can affect quality of life in some locations. Perfect for young professionals and empty nesters who value urban energy within a smaller city setting.
Historic charm defines Ardmore, where this distinctive Winston-Salem neighborhood showcases homes from the 1920s-30s just minutes from downtown. Rental options include divided historic homes and smaller apartment buildings with architectural details unavailable in newer construction. While the area offers excellent access to both Baptist Medical Center and Hanes Park recreation, parking can be challenging on narrower streets without dedicated spaces.
