Beautiful spacious home nestled in a rural New England setting. Watch the late afternoon sun turn the sky blaze orange over the 1700's cape, barn and carriage house across the gravel road. The hawks ascend the thermoclines above the meadow behind the barn with its apple trees in full white bloom. The horse riders from the several stables nearby often pass by. The setting is truly enchanting. Relax and take in the views from either of the two large elevated bluestone porches which are fully furnished. Land Trust hiking trails are immediately accessible from the house. The scenic trail network around Lake Bethany and Lake Chamberlin is just a short walk away. Remember to stop at Whitlocks Book Barn (featured in the New York Times) on the way to the trails to experience a literary treasure housed in a barn sitting in a meadow. A baby grand piano in the family room flanks the floor-to-ceiling granite stone fireplace. The cathedral ceiling in the family room is met by a rear wall comprised almost entirely of windows. The open floor plan between the kitchen and family room allows for the sharing of conversation and views. Enjoy working in the study with corner windows and granite fireplace. The music room has an upright piano and plenty of room for lounging. The washer and dryer are located in a newly renovated sunroom with wicker furniture and plenty of natural light for reading.
