Young professionals discover excellent value in Welleby, where garden-style apartments and townhomes surround the central lake creating waterfront living without oceanfront prices. The neighborhood sits perfectly positioned between downtown Fort Lauderdale employment and Sawgrass office parks, creating reasonable commutes in multiple directions. Unlike older communities, most properties include desirable amenities like in-unit laundry and adequate kitchen storage – seemingly small features that significantly impact daily living experience. The community's waterfront walking path creates perfect settings for evening stress reduction after work, while the central location provides quick access to restaurants and shopping without extensive highway travel. When considering rental options, units facing the lake often command premium pricing but provide serene views worth considering for work-from-home professionals spending extensive time in their space.
Proximity to Sawgrass Mills Mall appeals to retail workers, with condo fees covering hurricane shutters. Summer storms flood low-lying units first—secure ground-floor flood insurance. Night owls appreciate 24-hour Walgreens access.
Family-centric amenities thrive at Spring Tree Park's shaded playgrounds. Renters face $200+/month mandatory landscaping fees despite drought-tolerant yard requirements.
