Living in a shopper's paradise: Florin Mall, the first enclosed mall in the Sacramento area, was once located in the census-designated community of Vineyard, California. That mall has now been replaced by the outdoor promenade at Florin Towne Centre.
Southeastern Sacramento has many wine shops and some wineries, but its favorite vineyard grows people, not grapes -- that would be the community of Vineyard, California. Vineyard is part of Sacramento itself -- the Sacramento-Arden-Arcade-Roseville Metro area, to be exact. With a population of nearly 25,000, this community is one of greater Sacramento's most growing areas, a suburban enclave not far from Interstate 5 and Highway 99, and the vineyards and other agriculture of the region.
