City Guide for Calimesa, CA

Calimesa isn't someone's name. In fact, it was a contest winner! In 1929, the town had a contest to name the city, and Calimesa was the winning choice. It is said to come from the words California and Mesa, which means table. And the lucky winner didn't just get to name a U.S. city; they also won the grand prize of the contest, which was $10!

In the middle of southern California, on I-10 is a small and beautiful town called Calimesa. The city, which is always sunny and always warm, is known for its nice luxury housing, and for its golf! The small town has multiple championship golf courses in it, and the sport is a centerpiece of life for most of the residents that end up living there. However, you don't have to be a golfer to enjoy life in Calimesa. The city has lots of nice single family homes and apartment complexes, and it also has easy access to nearby big cities Riverside and Los Angeles. If you're looking for a southern California suburb with lots of sunshine and lots of recreational opportunities, this is your place! However, if you're one of those people that's into having all 4 seasons, this probably shouldn't be the place that you call home. See more

What to keep in mind when looking for apartments with balconies in Calimesa, CA

Balconies are a coveted amenity for many renters looking for high-rise views and opportunities for fresh air. However, you should keep in mind that balconies often come with restrictions.

Before signing a lease, ask about how many people can be on the balcony at once. Also, ask about whether you’re allowed to store a bike or other items.

You’ll also want to know about any maintenance schedules. Using your balcony as storage could result in fines and intervention from your property management.

Keep in mind that not all balconies are created equally. You may discover the views of the parking area are less than optimal or reduce your overall privacy.

Balconies can also get messy with debris, foliage, dirt, and pollen depending on your location. Renters are typically responsible for any clean-up and basic balcony upkeep.

Regardless of the issues to keep in mind, balconies are usually a big win for Calimesa renters. Ask about apartments on higher floors for the best views.
