Assistance Animals (Service Animals & Emotional Support Animals)
Assistance animals are not subject to pet deposits, pet rent, or weight restrictions. Tenant requesting an assistance animal accommodation must submit a written reasonable accommodation request accompanied by documentation from a licensed healthcare provider that verifies:

1) That the tenant has a disability as defined under the Fair Housing Act, and that there is a disability-related need for the animal
2) Landlord reserves the right to engage in an interactive process to evaluate the request in good faith and in accordance with applicable law
3) Landlord will not request medical records or a specific diagnosis
4) Fraudulent representation of an animal as an assistance animal may constitute grounds for lease termination in accordance with NC General Statutes
