Belvidere is a city in Boone County, Illinois with a population of 25,585. It’s about 75 miles northwest of downtown Chicago. The Kishwaukee River runs right through it, making it an industrial community surrounded by lots and lots of farmland.

Belvedere has 4 distinct districts that are all sort of based around the largest one, Orth Road/Beloit Road. 

Orth Road/Beloit Road: This is the largest area in Belvidere and homes here are the most expensive as it’s the area known for being green and lined with trees.

City Center: Homes and apartment for rent here are much cheaper than the average for Belvidere. There are plenty of studios and one bedroom apartments and a good mix of renters and owners.

South State St / Logan Ave: With a 13 percent vacancy rate, you’re likely to find an abundance of apartment complexes with open units here. Most are small apartment buildings on streets.

Living in Belvidere

Moving here should be a cinch. There’s a fairly high vacancy rates and apartments for rent are pretty easy to come by as the demand is not terribly high. With a Chrysler Assembly plant here, it’s got a pretty industrial feel and also has a few cultural points of interest. It’s known as the “city of murals,” for the number of murals all over the town.
