Sand Key features beachfront luxury on a barrier island just south of Clearwater Beach. Rental condos typically include Gulf views, resort-style amenities, and direct beach access. The area provides a quieter alternative to Clearwater Beach while still offering easy access to restaurants and shops, though hurricane evacuations are required during storms. Best for professionals and seasonal residents who value sophisticated beach living.
Surrounded by water on all sides, Island Estates offers genuine island living while maintaining causeway access to mainland Clearwater. Rental condos and townhomes frequently feature water views and deep-water dockage possibilities unusually accessible at these price points. The self-contained community includes restaurants and shops within walking distance, creating convenience unusual for waterfront properties typically requiring drives for everyday needs. While rental rates reflect the premium location and hurricane evacuation orders affect this zone earlier than mainland areas, the combination of water access, central positioning between Clearwater Beach and downtown, and boating facilities creates distinctive living experiences beyond typical Florida rental offerings. Ideal for boating enthusiasts seeking water access without maximum luxury pricing.
This 55+ community offers active adults resort-style living with organized activities and amenities throughout the property. Rental condos feature senior-friendly designs with one-level living and accessibility features. Residents enjoy multiple pools, recreation centers, and golf courses, though the age restrictions and community rules may feel limiting to some.
