City Guide for Bellmead, TX

This adorable little city adopted its name, Bellmead, in honor of Belle Meade Farms, which is a famous and rather prominent horse farm located in Tennessee.

Located a short two miles northeast of Waco, the city of Bellmead has a population of 10,212 residents who take great pride in the 6.2 square miles of land they all call home. The city's beginnings start back in the mid 1920s when three major railroads -- the Kansas, Missouri and Texas Railroads -- chose this as the spot for their locomotive shops. Bellmead's economy struggled to attract new families and businesses until 1942. That was the year the Waco Army Airfield was built just northeast of town. Following World War II, the economy continued to improve and in 1954, Bellmead incorporated using a mayor-alderman form of government. In 1965, the air base was closed. Today, Bellmead is a vibrant and visually stunning little city that attracts many people who work in Waco but prefer to live in a community that feels more welcoming and neighborly! See more

What to keep in mind when looking for apartments with garages in Bellmead, TX

Bellmead apartments with garages are sometimes more expensive than other options. However, they may make more financial sense in the long run.

Weather, break-ins, and daily struggles to find a space can take a toll financially and physically. Remember that even cities in mild climates experience issues like salt air, tornadoes, hail, falling branches from storms, and other issues.

It’s also possible to score an auto insurance reduction if you park in a garage. Ask your insurance provider about any deals or discounts that could trim money off the cost of your monthly bill.

Before signing a lease, ask the landlord or property manager about any restrictions on garage use. It’s important to know if there are enough spaces for tenants and visitors and what happens if the garage is full. If you’re moving into an apartment inside a home, ask about any conditions on its use and if storage is allowed.
