Irondequoit is a town in Monroe County, New York with a population of around 51,692. Located in the northeastern part of the state of New Yor, Its a major suburb of Rochester. One of the few cities in America that's bordered by major bodies of water on three sides (called a "peninsula"), Irondequoit has the Genesee River on the west, Irondequoit Bay on the east, and Lake Ontario to the north. This is a beautiful and scenic town with a friendly population and tree-lined neighborhoods and parks. There are plenty of good schools in the area, and local businesses by the lake, river, and bay bolster this growing population. If you're not a fan of feeling frozen several months out of the year, then Upstate New York is not the best place for you. The temperature drops well below freezing in the winter, making it great for ice fishing and skiing, but not so great for maintaining a tan. See more
