Lakefront living defines Killearn Lakes, where this northeastern Tallahassee community surrounds multiple water features creating distinctive views throughout the neighborhood. Rental properties typically include more outdoor space and natural surroundings than similarly priced options closer to campus. While the area offers excellent access to both Capital Circle shopping and Alfred B. Maclay Gardens State Park, the popularity means rental rates exceed averages for northeastern Tallahassee despite the suburban location. Particularly appealing to professionals and families seeking natural beauty with reasonable commutes to major employers.
Chapel Ridge offers student-friendly living with resort amenities in this purpose-built community near FSU. Apartment units typically feature student-focused floor plans with individual bedroom-bathroom suites and extensive community facilities including pools and fitness centers. The neighborhood provides shuttle service to campus and walking access to shopping along West Tennessee Street, creating an ideal environment specifically designed for student lifestyles beyond purely academic considerations.
Golf-centric living revolves around Southwood Golf Club's 18-hole course. Renters enjoy community pools but note strict quiet hours (10PM-8AM) enforced via neighborhood patrols. Limited dining beyond chain bistros.
