Lake of the Woods is named for exactly what it sounds like -- it's located right by a desert. Only kidding, it's actually a lovely lakeside community. Lake of the Woods Lake is a beautiful and pristine fresh water body famous for the wonderful fishing there. However, this lake is not actually located in the woods. It is instead shaped like the branches of a tree -- a thick middle with small out-shoots on all side. Beautiful!
