Herriman is still growing and changing. In fact, the land where Herriman rests was purchased by a developer named Rosecrest. Emmeline Drive: A perfect spot to find a home in a currently expanding development area. It's also very close to natural attractions such as South Mountain Recreation Area and W. and M. Butterfield Memorial Park.

Living in the City

Herriman has not always had it that easy. Back in September of 2010, the National Guard was going through an ordinary firing practice exercise at Camp Williams, just south of Herriman. A shot caused sparks and started a wildfire. Luckily, the Unified Fire Authority team in town was able to contain the fire and prevent it from causing much harm. Even in times of struggle, Herriman knows how to get in gear to protect itself and its citizens alike. Thanks to the hard-working firefighters who were on duty during the fire, Herriman continues to thrive. Safety is most definitely a key concept in this lovely Utah town.

If you like to sing "New York, New York," and ride the subway, Herriman may not be for you, but if you like views of mountain peaks like Step Mountain and Shaggy Peak, you'll love it here. Fresh air, mountain views and a bucolic small-town feeling are coupled with many modern conveniences, too. Herriman has outlet stores and a mall that are both known as shopping meccas in the region. Salt Lake City is a short drive of just thirty minutes away. Smaller communities such as Riverton, South Jordan and Bluffdale are right around the corner as well, so it's easy to get away whenever the mood strikes.

If you're into hiking and exploring the great outdoors, Yellow Fork Canyon Park is located just southwest of town, and there are several great recreation spots in town, including the JL Sorenson Center. In short, if you like beautiful mountain scenery, peaceful trails, butterflies in the spring and snowy mountaintops in the winter, you'll love the way this town looks.
