Carpinteria, or Carp, as the locals call it, is the home to Rincon Beach. The beach attracts plenty of interest from the national and international surfing fraternity, as it represents the top of the league when it comes to California's best spots for surfing.
The city of Carpinteria is located by the ocean in southeastern Santa Barbara County, California. According to the 2010 U.S. Census, the population stood at just over 13,000. The region enjoys warm, dry summers where the average high temperature rarely exceeds 72 degrees. Carpinteria Beach offers strong surfing swells. From May through September, seals and sea lions frequent the nearby Carpinteria Buffs, where it's also possible to spot the occasional gray whale.
