The Downtown Historic District, also known as Chelsea, has declined in recent years. However, the city has pushed to rejuvenate the area. Several repurposed lofts and condominiums are available in this area, though the price tag and other factors may be a deterrent. To the north of town you’ll find sprawling Mohegan Park and several other historic districts located in the original old town. To the northeast and northwest of Norwichtown, you’ll find Yantic and Taftville/Occum, respectively.
