Outdoor recreation is king in Longview. The town is fairly bereft of shopping, dining, and nightlife attractions, so for big city amenities, you’ll have to commute the 50-or-so miles to Portland. The Cowlitz River separates Longview from Kelso. The city center and industrial park are both located along the Cowlitz. However, some luxury townhomes and condominiums have recently gone up along the riverfront.
