City Guide for D'Iberville, MS

Go, Mississippi, you're on the right track / Go, Mississippi, and this is a fact / ?Go, Mississippi, you'll never look back / M-I-S-S-I-S-S-I-P-P-I -- From "Mississippi" by Houston Davis

One of the newest and most exciting towns in the state of Mississippi is called D'Iberville, located on the Gulf of Mexico, right near Biloxi. D'Iberville is basically a baby city. In fact, for a long time there was a billboard in town that showed a stork and congratulated residents on becoming a new town. That's because, while the town had been settled before 1700, it didn't incorporate and officially become a city until 1988. From that time until 2005, citizens worked tirelessly to build a cool and exciting beach town for people to visit. Unfortunately, the city was dealt a hard blow with hurricane Katrina in August of 2005. However, since then, the citizens of D'Iberville have worked hard to rebuild and revitalize their community, reestablishing beautiful neighborhoods and an awesome retail district. Are you looking to move down to the coast or the bayou? Then D'Iberville might be just the place for you to rent an apartment. There's a great mix of city apartments there, as well as awesome amenities and a rich cultural heritage, meaning you can certainly have a full life in this Mississippi coastal town. See more

What to keep in mind when looking for apartments with hardwood floors in D'Iberville, MS

Scoring an apartment with hardwood floors can be a big win for D'Iberville renters. They`re typically a beautiful addition to your space. They’re also easier to clean and sweep, particularly if you have pets.

However, there are some downsides. Hardwood floors carry sounds. They can also make your apartment noisy for your roommates and downstairs neighbors.

Ask the landlord or property manager about the hardwood floors before signing a lease. Are they actually hardwood or a popular composite alternative? The latter is probably easier to clean and care for than the real thing.

It’s also important to ask about who’s responsible for any damage to the floors and what that entails. Your security deposit could take a hit from scratches, dents, and other damage.

Consider the type of climate you live in. Hardwood floors typically don’t fare well in damp climates full of moisture. Stains and buckling are common in hardwood floors after rain flooding or excessive moisture.

However, hardwood floors can be ideal for dry climates or sunny areas for renters who love the way they look.
