"The Friendly Village" of Worth is located alongside Stony Creek, which is 14,000 years old! The creek was once called The Big Feeder during the early days of the Illinois and Michigan (I & M) Canal.
Worth is a southwestern suburb of Metro Chicago in Cook County. It's actually the Village of Worth, but isn't always called that because it sounds like something from a Shakespeare play. Okay, we totally made that up, but doesn't it? Anyway, it's the contemporary American kind of village with about 10,789 people in 2.38 square miles. Worth has great access to major highways and a reputation of friendliness to maintain!
Who wouldn't want to move to a place known as "The Friendly Village?" Worth should also be called "The Pet-Friendly Village" since 63% of rental properties here allow pets

Worth Neighborhoods
Of course in a village so dang small (but so dang cute, too!), there aren't really neighborhoods, and the apartment homes as well as houses tend to be spread out quite a bit. Still, several areas in Worth are sectioned off by different streets and the types of rental housing, as well as the amenities, can vary widely.
West 111th Street and Ridgeland Avenue: There are three-bedroom rental homes in this major area of Worth. It's also the perfect place to look for one- to three-bedroom apartments on the surrounding streets such as 113th. You'll see some three-story apartment buildings here too, and some have two-bedroom apartments for rent. On West 111th Street, there are 2 story buildings with 1 bedroom apartments and some of these units have air conditioning. Parking is in front of the units, and many complexes here also have bus stops near the property. Grocery stores, delis, pharmacies and restaurants are plentiful in this section of town.
For an interesting restaurant experience near West 111th and Ridgeland, try Krapil's the Great Steak. Yes, the name alone is entertaining and so is the fact that two worlds of eating exist here -- a classic steakhouse inside and a casual patio dining atmosphere outside. Sandwiches are served only on the patio, not inside, but there is steak, seafood and salads for both sections.
Ridgeland Avenue and West 95th Street: The exit to I-294 and major expressways is close to where you'll find some larger rental buildings with premier apartments in Worth. These are close to the freeway and typically offer one- to three-bedroom rental units.
Harlem Avenue at 115th Street: Some pricier rental apt options in Worth, IL, are included in this area, but there are also some more affordable rental options close by. This is the Waters Edge community with a public golf course and recreation area. Grocery and food supply businesses can be found between 90th and 93rd. Near 111th Street and Harlem Avenue is the Village Hall -- of course it _can't _be a City Hall! -- which is on the bus route in Worth.
