City Guide for Roseburg North, OR

Roseburg North is 911 miles north of San Diego and 462 miles south of Blaine, WA. Those are the two towns on the U.S. west coast at the south end and north end, respectively, of Interstate-5. Why is that important? It's not, really, but it's a fun fact, right?

Roseburg North (shouldn't someone have just called it North Roseburg?) is a census designated place, which is just a spiffy way of saying it doesn't have a town government, located just north of Roseburg in Douglas County, Oregon. That's in the southern half of the western side of the state (the side where it rains a lot), for the uninitiated. There are about 6,000 people living in Roseburg North proper, although the City of Roseburg's population is just more than than 21,000. The area around Roseburg North is an outdoor recreation playground with opportunities for fishing, boating, white-water rafting, hiking, horseback riding, camping, hunting, birding, golfing and even cross-country skiing -- you name it. The North Little River rolls right past town, and Roseburg North is close to Diamond Lake, Loon Lake, the Umpqua National Forest, but that's just the beginning of what and where you can explore around this quaint little Oregon town. Not to mention you can start, or continue, your higher education here by attending classes at Umpqua Community College. See more

What to keep in mind when looking for dog friendly apartments in Roseburg North, OR

Finding an apartment in Roseburg North that accepts your pet may not be easy, but it’s very possible. Keep in mind, most of the time you’ll have to pay a premium for bringing your dog along in your new apartment. Some apartments require you to pay monthly pet rent, others will ask for a non-refundable pet fee or a refundable pet deposit.

While landlords and property management companies have varying pet policies, most of them limit the number of dogs you can bring to your apartment and include breed and weight restrictions.

If your pet falls under some of the restrictions outlined in the pet policy, it’s still worth asking the landlord if they can make an exception for your dog. Preparing a pet resume ahead of time could help you build the case for your furry friend. Make sure to include information on behavioral training your dog went through over the years and proof of vaccinations. If you can, include references from your former landlord and/or neighbors.
