City Guide for Monahans, TX

Monahans is the birthplace of the Grammy award winning country and folk singer, Guy Clark, who has mentioned the city in several of his songs.

Monahans is the county seat of Ward County in Texas, although a small part of the city's limits extends towards Winkler County, as well. As of the 2010 census, the population of the city was 6,953, spread among roughly 2,500 homes. The city is in the east of Texas, roughly 30 miles from the border of New Mexico. The nearest major city is Odessa to the northeast, about 40 miles along Interstate 20. There are, however, other settlements close by, such as Kermit to the north, Pecos to the west, and Fort Stockton directly to the south. The history of the city dates back to the 1880's where several Indian tribes - the Lipan Apaches, Mescaleros, and Comanches - once roamed. As you'd expect from somewhere in the south, the weather is classified as humid subtropical, where you'll experience hot and humid summers and mild winters. See more

What to keep in mind when looking for pet friendly apartments in Monahans, TX

Renting pet-friendly apartments in Monahans should offer peace of mind and convenience for our furry friends. It’s crucial to find an apartment that’ll work for both you and your pet. Before signing a pet-friendly apartment, take your time to study the layout and ask plenty of questions.

Some pet-friendly apartments in Monahans may request a pet deposit or only accept certain dog breeds. You should also consider if the floors are hardwood or carpeted. Hardwood may be easier to clean-up fur and a mess but could mean your neighbors below hear the tapping of your dog running past. An outdoor balcony can also be ideal for a pet who needs some fresh air.

Consider the neighborhood of any pet-friendly apartments in Monahans. Are they near a dog park or a vet? You should also research the rates of dog walkers in your area. It may be less expensive to move to a nearby neighborhood with a lower pet deposit, a better layout for your pet, and cheaper services.
