Dating back to the early 18th century, the Borough of Sharon Hill got its name from a local estate named "Sharon." A Quaker, Halliday Jackson, owned the property, and his ancestors came to America in the early 1700's from Ireland.
Sharon Hill, Pennsylvania is located just south from the heart of Philadelphia, the City of Brotherly Love. As such, even though Sharon Hill has a quiet, suburban village character to its neighborhoods, you will have access to all the best professional sports, entertainment, dining, shopping and excitement a big city has to offer. With an estimated population of 5,697, Sharon Hill is tiny compared to the nearby cities of Philadelphia, New York City and Washington D.C. The region is central to American history, so if scouting out sites from the Revolutionary War or Civil War lights your fire, then this community will delight you. The area has Independence Hall, the Philadelphia Museum of Art, the Franklin Institute and the Liberty Bell. For children, the Please Touch museum gives them a chance to explore without the restrictions of a typical art gallery. If you need even more choices, New York City is a hop, skip and a jump away, either by car or by public transportation. View Sharon Hill City Guide
Balconies are a coveted amenity for many renters looking for high-rise views and opportunities for fresh air. However, you should keep in mind that balconies often come with restrictions.
Before signing a lease, ask about how many people can be on the balcony at once. Also, ask about whether you’re allowed to store a bike or other items.
You’ll also want to know about any maintenance schedules. Using your balcony as storage could result in fines and intervention from your property management.
Keep in mind that not all balconies are created equally. You may discover the views of the parking area are less than optimal or reduce your overall privacy.
Balconies can also get messy with debris, foliage, dirt, and pollen depending on your location. Renters are typically responsible for any clean-up and basic balcony upkeep.
Regardless of the issues to keep in mind, balconies are usually a big win for Sharon Hill renters. Ask about apartments on higher floors for the best views.
