Walking is the predominant form of transportation, contributing to the Island's intimate, relaxed atmosphere. Residents use wagons to transport luggage, groceries, and other items to and from the ferry terminal, market, or beach. The radio flyer red wagon has become a familiar Fire Island icon. The Island is known for the abundance of wild deer that roam freely. The most popular way to get to Fire Island is via the Fire Island Ferry Service. The Patchogue ferry terminal services Davis Park and Watch Hill. The Long Island Rail Road offers train service from Pennsylvania Station to Bayshore, Patchogue and Sayville. The Fire Island Ferries have three terminals on Long Island, each serving different communities on the island. The Bay Shore terminal services Kismet, Saltaire, Fair Harbor, Dunewood/Atlantique, Ocean Beach, Seaview, Ocean Bay Park, and Point O'Woods.
