Harrodsburg has a strong link to World War II. In fact, Company D, a famous company of the 192nd Tank Battalion, that fought in the Battle of Bataan, was from Harrodsburg.

Harrodsburg, sometimes known as Harrod's Town was established by the House of Burgesses after Boonesborough in 1774 and was incorporated as a city in 1836. This is considered to be the oldest, permanent settlement in Kentucky, west of the Appalachians. The population has risen from 1,481 in 1850 to 8,340 at the 2010 census. Harrodsburg has a hot and humid, subtropical climate in summer and winters are cool to mild making this a lovely area to holiday and to live.It is friendly and affordable and the city is surrounded by gently rolling pastureland with one of the most unique ecosystems in the country at the ancient Kentucky River Palisades.
