Treadway at New Trails

Treadway at New Trails Apartments is an okay place to live in JoCo, KS. Our move-in went smooth and we didn’t have any issues there. Management is nice but not concerned with anything you need once you have signed the lease. The apartments are newly built in 2022 (I think) and therefore “nicer” than most. I definitely expected it to be more “luxurious” like you see on their Facebook page and advertisements. They do have a good variety of dumbbells in the gym. The pool is smaller than I expected for the size of the community. They have valet trash which is nice and a new concept to me but I do really like it even with the weird hours. The apartment building itself is pretty quiet most days, which is nice and peaceful. Neighbors are friendly. However, I do feel like I’m getting less than what I paid for… - You can tell they were built fast..walls are slanted and not straight. - Lots of hidden fees every month on top of rent. I wish I would have known to ask before hand. - When moving in, the AC unit filter in the stairwell was full and water was running down the wall and onto the carpet. The carpet was soaked and water would squish when you walked on it. - We pay for “Pest control” monthly yet they just explained to us they only come every 3 months unless requested. - Brightspeed is the only internet provider they offer and boy is it a hassle. Some advice when setting your WiFi account up, make sure to choose the correct monthly plan because it seems like you can’t change it after you pick. Countless calls with Brightspeed and being placed on hold and we can’t get our monthly plan to change to a cheaper option. - Buildings are supposed to be secure and only available via key fob, but some buildings, including the clubhouse, the doors are broken and you don’t need a key fob to enter, provide zero security. - Neighbors are not mindful or respectful the community and others. Trash in the stairwells, halls, outside. Dog poop not being picked up. - The mail room is a mess and packages get stolen. - We had a HUGE storm about a month ago now and noticed some water spots on our ceiling from a leak. We submitted a maintenance request and have yet to hear back. - The golf simulator is never working. When it does work and you ask for golf balls at the front, they will tell you they don’t have any. Doesn’t make sense to have a golf simulator without golf balls. - The gym is okay. However I did expect more. They do have a barbell but only 4 different sized plates. None in matching weight and the biggest is 25lbs. Overall, it’s an okay place to live. I definitely was expecting a lot more when I moved in.
