The South neighborhood would equate with San Antonio, whereas Houston and Dallas would fall within the eastern section. Central lines up almost perfectly with the Abilene and western Miami Heights would be represented by Midland or Odessa.

North: You may need to invest in a bigger garage. Residents of this neighborhood own on average four or more cars. Which they use, frequently. Spanish is spoken widely. ‘¿dónde está la tienda de comestibles?’ Would be a good phrase to learn early on.

South: Located west of Southland Mall, this neighborhood consists largely of military personnel and their families. Think characteristic Florida neighborhood, ranch style houses with adobe exteriors and citrus trees near the driveway.

East: If you’re looking to rent, this is your best bet. This neighborhood is home to a near record number of studio and one bedroom apartments. Doing your apartment search here during the offseason when most of the residents are gone is likely to produce positive results.
