Legendary sculptor, Charlie Stagg, lived and worked as an artist in Vidor, Texas. He slowly built his rather reclusive compound over a 30-year period, all by hand and all by himself. He used recycled glass bottles, reclaimed timber, found objects, and concrete to create a truly one-of-a-kind home. Tourists and locals gasped in delight once they reached the home that was nearly a mile back from the nearest road.

Located just to the northeast of Beaumont, the thriving little Texas city of Vidor is now home to many residents who want to be your next neighbor! The city was incorporated in 1960 and has experienced steady economic growth since then. Named after its founder, Charles Sheldon Vidor, the city is mostly dependent on steel, refining, and petrochemical-based companies in the area. Extensive damage occurred during Hurricanes Rita, in 2005, and Ike, in 2008. However, the city bounced back with gusto and rebuilt quickly. Vidor is a bustling, positively thriving little city.
