In the central and western parts of Glenville are the major apartment complexes like Indian Brook Apartments, The Reserve at Glenville, and Hampton Run Apartments. Basically any kind of living situation you are looking for can be found either within East Glenville or a short drive from it.
If you're looking for parks, this is the place for you. Recreation is the name of the game here and, though it isn't all that's there, let's just say it's a big part of the area. There are five different nature preserves plus additional trails and nature-lover draws all within a few short miles of East Glenville. These places go year-round, so don't think it's all about summer-time fun. Aside from parks, Glenville boasts the Empire State Aeroscience Museum--bet you didn't see that one coming. However, just outside the borders is even more.
For groceries and shopping, hop in the car and stop over in Scotia to get your dinner from the Price Chopper Plaza and some new duds at the Mayfair Shopping Center. A mere 10 minutes away in Niskayuna is an abundance of shopping and dining. If you're looking for bigger shopping action, you can drive about 25 minutes to the southeast and scratch that retail itch at Crossgates Mall right in Albany, New York.
If you want some real entertainment, you can head into downtown Schenectady for some fine dining, a show at Proctor's Theater or a visit to Schenectady's Museum of Innovation and Science.
If you really want to get away, drive a mere 20 minutes to get to Albany International Airport. Flying not your style? Then why not hop on an Amtrak train from Schenectady and head down to New York City or up to Montreal, Canada? Sorry to say that the CDTA bus line stops just short of Glenville, down in Scotia, so if you're looking for a trip in to Schenectady, you'll probably do best with carpooling. What?
