LaGrange is a beautiful little city in one of the prettiest parts of Georgia. This community has a thriving downtown, a surprisingly pleasant college crowd, and many lovely neighborhoods. The thing that really makes it great, though, is the atmosphere and culture felt when you drive through the local neighborhoods of old country homes and historic houses.

There are a few pre-Civil War houses still standing, thanks to some very crafty confederate women who knew how to work that famous southern hospitality. This southern hospitality continues to be a way of life, with some of the friendliest and most welcoming neighbors you can find. It's the kind of small-town living where neighbors look out for each other, and that can go a long way.

Although there isn't much in the way of retail or fine dining, there isn't much traffic or suburban-sameness either. Rather than shopping, most residents here just enjoy each others company. There are also some great fishing spots at the nearby West Point Lake, which draws bass fishermen from all over the state.

Apartments for rent are somewhat scarce in LaGrange. There are a few inexpensive apartments in small brick buildings near campus, as well as some house conversions that make for some very quaint apartment homes. There are also quite a few duplexes, triplexes, and houses for rent, often at lower prices than you can find in apartment communities. Rental rates range from about $300 to $1,000, and come in the form of ranch homes, country cottages, and small apartment buildings. Most rental homes include fenced-in yards, perfect for a backyard BBQ or neighborhood hootenanny.

Long lists of amenities are unheard of in this little city. The most you can expect is a swimming pool, and if you're lucky, a nearby park with playgrounds and picnic areas. However, there is an upside to this type of rental market. That is, most rental properties have that home-sweet-home feeling you can only get from living in an actual house. Whoever thought of packing all us renters into compact apartment complexes anyways?

If you need a pet friendly rental, then LaGrange is the perfect place to look. This is one pet-loving city, where both cat and dog friendly properties are easy to come by. And, with all the rental homes available, your furry friends get to enjoy the luxury of running around leash-free in their very own yard!
