Grafton is far enough away to avoid the hustle and bustle of inner-city life but and close enough (appx 20 miles) to all things Milwaukee where it is easy to take advantage of all Milwaukee has to offer without a higher cost of living. Known as the Brew City, Milwaukee is home to some of the nation's best breweries, a trend that's spreading nationwide. Home to the Milwaukee Brewers there is American Family Field, Pabst Theatre, the VA, UW Milwaukee, MSOE, shopping, etc. Throughout the summer months, Milwaukee celebrates its diverse heritage through a series of festivals connected to the city's differing cultures. These fun-filled festivals include the African World Fest, German Fest, Irish Fest, Indian Summer Festival, and Feast Italiana. State Fair park hosts the World Class Wisconsin State Fair here and on the lakefront Milwaukee's annual Summerfest is billed as the largest music festival in the world, and has been since 1999, featuring more than 800 acts over the course of 11 days.
Grafton is also only 15 minutes from Harrington Beach State Park with its own quarry lake, 30 minutes from Sheboygan / Kohler (Kohler Art Center, Kohler Andre park, the Above & Beyond Children's Museum, and Deland Park with another awesome Lake Michigan Beach and waves that have locals surfing along the shoreline). Sheboygan (and Manitowoc) also boast the Wisconsin Shipwreck Coast National Marine Sanctuary. For diving enthusiasts, there are a large number of historically significant shipwrecks that lie in the waters of Lake Michigan off Sheboygan & Manitowoc. Manitowoc is only fifty minutes away with the Wisconsin Maritime Museum where one can tour a WWII submarine and beautiful with Two Rivers, WI and many more other arts and cultural adventures along the Lake Michigan coastline.
Just 1½ hours away is Flambeau Field, the home of the Green Bay Packers, world class Musky and Walleye fishing, and a plethora of many other things to see and do in Green Bay.
