It should come as no surprise in a city cited as one of the “10 Least Expensive Cities for Living in the U.S.A.” that cheap apartments and townhomes are available in abundance. Several apartment buildings situated within stumbling distance of the East Tennessee State University campus can be scored in the $550-$700 range. Meanwhile, luxury apartments with all sorts of fancy bells and whistles (in-unit washers/dryers, furnished interiors, vaulted ceilings, fireplaces, scenic views, and more), typically go for under $800. Fortunately, even the more modestly priced rentals in Johnson City come equipped with above average amenities and other cool stuff (swimming pools, gyms, clubhouses, patios/balconies, cleaning ninjas who sneak in and tidy up your place when you’re asleep, etc.)
