Sweet Home, Oregon, may not have its own theme song, but it is the location of the Northwest's largest country music festival, the annual Oregon Jamboree.
In a great marketing move long before focus groups, two communities of Buckhead and Mossville joined together under the new name of Sweet Home in 1874. Covered bridges, country music, and outdoor adventure pretty much describe this Oregon city nicknamed the Gateway to the Santiam Playground. Waterways such as the Santiam River, Calapooia River, Foster Lake, Green Peter Lake, and the prehistoric Petrified Forest make Sweet Home rich in natural resources like crystals and precious metals. Speaking of water, Sweet Home experiences precipitation for about half the year (or if you're optimistic, over 150 sunny days annually). View Sweet Home City Guide
