North Merrick
Moving to North Merrick, NY

If you plan to move to North Merrick, NY, you're in luck! The town is full of rental houses and luxury apartments for rent. The first thing you'll want to do is prepare to apply for an apartment. Although all rental applications differ, there are some things you can expect to have to bring in order to secure rental housing in North Merrick. Some of these include proof of income, a letter of employment, bank statements, pay stubs, letters of reference from friends and former landlords, and more. You'll have to put a deposit down on the apartment, too, whether you're planning to rent a one-bedroom apartment or a condo. Make sure you're saving your pennies before you start your search!

North Merrick Neighborhoods

Of course, you'll need to do research before you move. Make sure you know what amenities are around you and how convenient your new area is going to be to things you like. This will save you pain and suffering in the long run!

Northern North Merrick: The northern part of North Merrick is north of the Southern State Parkway. It is nearly all residential, with a few shops and businesses. If you're looking for excitement, this is not the place to have it. Although, it certainly is a lovely suburban neighborhood.

Southern North Merrick: The southern half of North Merrick is a good mix of residential and commercial areas, and it has the city's only park: Fraser Avenue Park. This is a good spot to live in if you travel to and fro a lot; it's just minutes from the Merrick train station.

Living in North Merrick

Let's face it: North Merrick is really tiny. Save for one park, a couple of stores and a racquet club, there's really not much to do there. That's okay, however, because many people here travel to NYC via the Long Island Railroad, and also, many people like to go the opposite direction and spend their entertainment hours in the Hamptons. So, if you're looking for quiet suburban living near one of the biggest and most-exciting cities on the planet, North Merrick is definitely a great spot for you.
