Hamtramck has a vibrant music scene, and has been recognized for their punk and alternative music, and was even named the No. 2 Most Rock N' Roll City in 2003. If you are looking to be surrounded by culture without living in the heart of Detroit, Hamtramck offers many of the benefits of the city without being right in the middle of it all.

Hamtramck also has a quaint Old World sort of character that many people really appreciate. The 1998 independent movie Polish Wedding was filmed here. The great living here means that Hamtramck attracts a lot of artists, which you can see on display with local installations like "Hamtramck Disneyland."
